Complete the Ethical Lens Inventory Essay

Over the past few years I have been in the ‘finding myself’ phase. I have always been a person to be analytical and constantly working things through in my head. As of recent, I have been meaning to find purpose and meaning for all things humane. I would guess in the pursuit of happiness as they say. I often find myself wanting to reach out and see what I can do in my own pursuit to help others along the way. After taking the Ethical Lens game I can most definitely identify myself with the Rights and Responsibility lens. At a young age, I was attracted to my neighborhood church. I remember waking up to dress and walk myself there, to be around others in the community coming together for united purposes. After reading this specific lens focuses its ideals as said ‘through Nature or given by God’ as the way for man kind to strive to abide. A secondary value of this lens is loyalty. Nowadays, I find myself having to think about how far one should take loyalty. I have been in many debates on fairness to others. Defending friendships or family to the point where I’ve lost a few friendships from debating what I thought was right in a situation and came off too strong. That point leads to my blind spot, which was identified in this exercise as the ‘Belief that motive justifies method’. Looking back I can agree that I have hurt people unintentionally with what I thought was fair but being too pushy or as said in the inventory, having the risk of being too bossy. Also, I find often have to send myself reminders of not to be so judgemental of others when they don’t live up to the expectations I believe they should have for their lives. Yes I know ‘I have some nerve’. I am glad this was also pointed out as a risk in the inventory as my vice. The Ethical Lens Inventory now solidifies areas in my life that I now know for sure deserves immediate attention if I want to move forward and have succesful relationshi ps. I have never taken an ethical inventory in such detail as  this. I am grateful for this experience to identify my strengths and weaknesses in this unique exercise.

Visa para recibir tratamiento médico en Estados Unidos

Las personas extranjeras que residen habitualmente fuera de los Estados Unidos y que desean ingresar al paà ­s para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico  deben  hacerlo con estatus de turista, bien con la visa B2 o bien sin visa por pertenecer a uno de los paà ­ses incluido el el Programa de Exencià ³n de Visados. En casos extraordinarios, cuando el solicitante no puede ingresar a EE.UU. bajo la condicià ³n de turista porque no cumple los requisitos para ser admisible al paà ­s podrà ­a calificar para pedir y obtener una parole humanitaria. Ingresar como turista para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico en EE.UU. Visa de turista La primera opcià ³n que va a aplicar a la mayorà ­a de los extranjeros es sacar la visa de turista.  tambià ©n conocida como visa B2,  de paseo o placer.   En casos de urgencia para recibir el tratamiento mà ©dico, hay un protocolo previsto en los consulados para resolver estas solicitudes cuanto antes. Si ese es el caso, consultar la pà ¡gina del consulado que corresponda para sacar la visa. Es muy comà ºn que cuando se ingresa con esta visa se reciba autorizacià ³n para permanecer en los Estados Unidos 180 dà ­as, pero no siempre es asà ­. Por ello es importante verificar la fecha fijada en el I-94, conocido tambià ©n como registro de ingreso y de salida. Nunca fiarse por la fecha de expiracià ³n del visado, que realmente significa otra cosa. Si una vez que se està ¡ en el hospital la estancia necesita alargarse, puede pedirse una extensià ³n. Los hospitales suelen ayudar con este trà ¡mite. Si por razones de causa mayor no se salià ³ de Estados Unidos a tiempo ni se pidià ³ la extensià ³n, podrà ­a en algunos casos pedirse la restauracià ³n de estatus. Para sacar la visa de turista para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico es importante poder demostrar ingresos o recursos para costear el tratamiento. Hay que evitar crear la sospecha de que se va a ser una carga pà ºblica para el gobierno de los Estados Unidos si la visa es aprobada.   Por lo tanto, estar en condicià ³n de acreditar uno o varios de los siguientes medios de pago: Seguro mà ©dicoIngresos o patrimonio propio o familiarDinero aportado por el gobierno del paà ­s al que uno pertenece, una ONG nacional o extranjera, etc. Ni las oficinas consulares de los Estados Unidos està ¡n autorizadas a conceder visas para recibir tratamiento mà ©dico a personas que no pueden sufragar gastos mà ©dicos ni los hospitales van ha admitir ingresos de pacientes sin  asegurarse el pago. Visa là ¡ser Una segunda posibilidad, solo posible para mexicanos o residentes permanentes en Mà ©xico que viven a lo largo de la frontera con Estados Unidos, es ingresar con una visa là ¡ser, tambià ©n conocida como tarjeta de cruce. En estos casos el lugar donde se puede recibir el tratamiento està ¡ limitado a un nà ºmero de millas a contar desde la là ­nea fronteriza y tambià ©n està ¡ restringido el nà ºmero de dà ­as que se puede permanecer en Estados Unidos. Sin visa Y finalmente, una tercera posibilidad es entrar como turista sin visa, por un mà ¡ximo no extensible de 90 dà ­as. Para ello es necesario ser ciudadano de uno de la treintena de paà ­ses que pertenecen al Programa de Exencià ³n de Visas (VWP, por sus siglas en inglà ©s). Pero hay que tener muy claro que la estancia no se puede alargar, bajo ninguna circunstancia, mà ¡s de tres meses a contar desde el dà ­a de entrada a EEUU.   Si se llega por avià ³n hay que solicitar previamente una autorizacià ³n para volar, que se conoce como ESTA. En estos momentos esta opcià ³n solo aplica a chilenos, espaà ±oles y tambià ©n a algunas personas con doble nacionalidad y que por esa circunstancia uno de sus pasaportes es de un paà ­s incluido en el VWP. Finalmente, cabe destacar que opciones antes descritas no aplican a los ciudadanos canadienses, para quienes està ¡n previstas otras  reglas. Parole humanitaria Cuando una persona extranjera no puede ingresar como turista a EE.UU. podrà ­a, en casos excepcionales, solicitar y obtener una parole humanitaria. Solo puede solicitarse en casos de emergencia mà ©dica seria para un periodo de tiempo definido. Solo se puede aprobar en casos de beneficio pà ºblico para EE.UU. o razà ³n humanitaria urgente. Con carà ¡cter general, esta parole humanitaria debe solicitarse mediante las planillas I-131, I-134 (declaracià ³n de sostenimiento) y G-28, si se tiene abogado. La solicitud de parole humanitaria tiene un coste de $575 y los formularios y documentacià ³n de apoyo debe enviarse al lockbox de USCIS en Dallas. Si la solicitud es negada, no puede apelarse. Sin embargo, en el caso de que el solicitante haya sido previamente deportado de EE.UU. o tiene un proceso de deportacià ³n abierto, deberà ¡ solicitar la parole humanitaria a ICE, a la Oficina de Asuntos Internacionales, en Washington D.C. El caso de ingresar  a Estados Unidos a tener un hijo Todos los dà ­as entran a EEUU decenas de mujeres extranjeras en las à ºltimas fases de sus embarazos para dar a luz, o como dicen en algunos paà ­ses, a aliviarse. Pero hay que tener en cuenta ciertas circunstancias, para evitar problemas con el gobierno de EE.UU., la revocacià ³n de la visa para los padres e, incluso, que se niegue la entra al paà ­s a mujeres embarazadas.
